Immortality in Shum Sanctuary is quality of Naf. Naf is a Rehnadee Shum word that is translated as the Sense-of-I. A sense which is resident within the core of our being. Naf is akin to the concept of a divine being that exists within one's physical self as the word 'soul' alludes to. However Naf is different than the soul in that it evolves, whereas it is generally accepted that the 'soul' refers to a being that is of unevolutionary and of spiritual perfection. Both soul and Naf share the quality of immortality which carries the meaning of indestructible and undying.

Naf is a sense that we use to perceive our sense of being. The Sense-of-I is recognised as our sixth sense by the second truth of Shummef, which is Naf~ Shummef~
Shummef is the Shum Perspective and it is a faculty of the mind that we use to experience and understand the mystical part of us. At the foundations of Shummef are three truths, which are as follow:

  1. There is One Mind and it is organised into 14 dimensions.
  2. 'I' in Shummef is a pure being of consciousness that is taintless and evolves spiritually. (The Sense-of-I)
  3. Rehnadee Shum meditations are dynamic and they cause spiritual evolution.

The Sense-of-I, Naf, arises from the second truth. A postulation of this second truth is that our core identity is our Sense-of-I, and that it is immortal. Meaning that it doesn't expire with the death of the physical body. After death Naf can transmigrate into a new body of a different birth or remain in spiritual realms as a being that is in-between births or one that is free of the cycle of reincarnation.
